Recently, WCH’s Breast Disease Center officially joined National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) of the United States, indicating that the Center's clinical trial, diagnosis and treatment level have caught up with international standards. With annual visit of 120,000 patients with breast diseases, the Center integrates professional groups of breast surgery, breast oncology and radiation oncology as basis, combining with related groups such as pathology, radiology, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The Center is built on the new "disease-centered" treatment concept.

As the research organization of breast cancer and colorectal cancer with the longest history in the world, NSABP has been regarded as the highest platform for clinical trials of breast cancer across the world. Since its establishment in 1958, NSABP has  a large membership network of nearly 1,000 medical centers, university-affiliated hospitals and cancer research institutes in the United States, Canada, Australia and other countries, and now becomes a main institution for cancer clinical research and training in the United States and even in the world.
